Jan Kees de Jager and Lex Hoogduin give guest lecture to UvA economics students

On Monday, 30 January, Finance minister Jan Kees de Jager and former DNB (Dutch Central Bank) director Lex Hoogduin gave a guest lecture to Faculty of Economics and Business students of the University of Amsterdam.

2 February: UvA Minor in Entrepreneurship Kick Out event

The University of Amsterdam’s Minor in Entrepreneurship will hold its Kick Out event on Thursday, 2 February. During the Kick Out, a number of student-teams will present the company they have created during the past half-year as part of the Entrepreneurship minor.

Honorary doctorate presented to Willem Buiter during 380th Dies Natalis

On Friday, 6 January, the University of Amsterdam presented four honorary doctorates during the Dies Natalis. One of these doctorates was for Macroeconomist Willem Buiter for his important research in the field of macroeconomics and macroeconomic policy.

Vincent Sterk awarded KVS medal

Dr Vincent Sterk was awarded the prestigious Royal Association for Political Economy (Koninklijke Vereniging voor de Staathuishoudkunde, KVS) medal for his thesis ‘The Role of Mortgages and Consumer Credit in the Business Cycle’.

UvA econometrician new member of The Young Academy
