Should a heavy smoker have to pay more premium for health insurance than a non-smoker? The study programme in Actuarial Studies involves financial business issues and trains you to be an actuary (actuarial mathematician).

Econometrics and operational research (BSc - Dutch taught)

How can the accessibility of Schiphol, the main airport of The Netherlands, be increased? This is one of the questions that we are trying to answer within the Econometrics and Operations Research programme. If the government increases excises and makes fuel more expensive, do more people stop using the car? Econometrists try to prove propositions like these in order find underlying economic laws.

Economics and Business (BSc) [English language]

Increasing globalisation presents a need for graduates with a solid training and a broad range of skills and knowledge in all kinds of business organisations and (inter)national governmental bodies. The undergraduate programme in Economics and Business of the Faculty of Economics and Business is completely taught in English, enabling Dutch and international students alike to major in Business Studies, International Economics, International Economics and Finance, and International Industrial Organisation.
